There are four types of computer.
1.) Micro Computer (Personal Computer):
It is a single user and single processor system. Only a single person can work at a time. Its speed is measured in Millisecond.
Example of Micro Computer: INTEL PENTIUM, PENTIUM MMX, UPTRON- S- 800, INTEL 8080(PC), INTEL 80286(PC-XT), INTEL 80386/80486 (PC-AT).
2.) Mini Computer: It is a multi user and multi processor system. It allows 50 users to work at a time. Its speed is measured in Microsecond. The first Mini Computer was named as PDP 8 which was launched in 1965.
Example of Mini Computer: PDP 8, PDP II, VAX 7500, HCL Dayis.
3.) Main Frame Computer: It is also a multi user and multi processor system. 200 users can work at a time. Its speed is measured in Nanosecond.
Example of Main Frame Computer: DEC 1090M, Cyber 170, IBM 360/370, IBM 1390, UNIVAC 1100/60, IBM 4300 Series.
4.) Super Computer: It is also a multi user and multi processor system. The processing speed of this computer is very high compared than Mini, Micro and Main Frame Computers. The speed is measured in Picosecond. It is six times faster than largest Main Frame Computer. It allows 500 users to work at a time.
Example of Super Computer: CRAY, CRAY 2, NEX SX 2, PARAM 10000, ROBOT
